Power electronics players to converge at PCIM Asia 2023 with four key areas to be explored

The leading fair for power electronics in Asia returns from 29 – 31 August 2023 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. In addition to the exhibition, the fair will cover four areas of the power electronics industry, namely, electrical transportation technology, new energy development, power electronics applications and WBG devices, among other fields. These areas will be explored through forums featuring a range of topics with guest speakers from renowned academic institutions including Tsinghua, Tongji and Shanghai Jiao Tong universities.

PCIM Asia gathers for participants from every corner of the power electronics industry, including academics, researchers, manufacturers, suppliers, users, developers, engineers, investors and policy makers. Doing so, provides an opportunity for them to interact, share knowledge, experience, ideas, opinions, solutions and strategies to build partnerships that will shape the next generation of power electronics.

This year’s edition will once again bring together leading experts in power electronics, intelligent motion, renewable energy and energy management, with new exhibitors this year include onsemi, NOVOSENSE, Sharetek, Ganext, AOS, Redpower, Marching-power, Second-auto, Yangjie, JSAB, Advanced, Nippon Light Metal, Tianyu, Semi-Future and QUICK. In addition to the exhibition, PCIM Asia 2023 is also set to provide an extensive examination of the latest advancements in the field of power electronics, featuring a diverse array of engaging topics through four concurrent forums. 

Electrical transportation technology in the Industry 4.0 era
Speakers from well-known universities and research institutions such as Tsinghua University, Tongji University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Tongji-CRRC Joint Research Center for Innovation, Shanghai ABB Engineering, Shanghai University will conduct a thorough analysis of China's shift towards electrical transportation technology. The event will unveil the latest developments in the field and conduct interactive discussions on topics such as domestic railways, electric vehicles, intelligent motion control, marine engineering and electric UAVs.

New energy development under the carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals
This forum will explore the prospects and key technologies around new energy development and use under China’s “dual carbon” goals. New energy power generation technologies will be explored such as wind, solar, hydrogen and marine energy, electricity conversion, energy storage and control technologies. 

Prominent industry experts, academics and manufacturing professionals will take part from organisations and institutions including Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai Lingang Power Electronics Research Institute, Sungrow, Hopewind, Shanghai Electric, SHPT and more.

Power Electronics Application Forum
In this forum sponsored by Indium, Nexperia and WeEn, over 30 exhibitors will analyse the latest power electronics application market trends, showcase new product releases, discuss industry best practices, conduct product demonstrations and engage in business matchmaking.

WBG Devices Zone & Forum
This event will focus on the Wide Bandgap Devices market, supply chain and technologies including SiC and GaN power devices.
